BEYOND THE BOUNDARIES

Playing the sitar with the intensity of an electric bass, or letting yourself be carried by a rock improvisation that follows the logic of a raga, means crossing the borders between cultures and musical languages. It is in these meeting places that what seemed distant reveals its common origin, bringing to light the universal core from which every sound comes to life.

In the SITARVALA project, sitar, sarod, electric bass, acoustic and electric guitars, steel drum, tanpura and original or modified instruments live side by side. Folk sounds intertwine with electronic textures, rock meets the structure of the raga, while contemporary improvisation keeps opening new expressive possibilities.

This is not a simple fusion of styles, but a creative dialogue between different musical worlds. East and West listen to each other, influence each other and transform into one another, until a new sound language emerges, in constant evolution.

Every encounter between cultures, traditions and artistic sensibilities widens our perceptual horizon. It is precisely in this plurality of experiences, suggestions and visions that the possibility of genuine human and emotional enrichment is born, able to turn sound into a bridge between people, cultures and inner worlds.
