THE PROJECT
THE PROJECT

Indian classical music won me over from the very first listen. Since then I have made the meeting of East and West the heart of my artistic research, weaving the sounds of the raga together with rock, folk, electronic music and contemporary improvisation.
SITARVALA is a project in constant evolution: a creative laboratory where different cultures, traditions and musical languages meet and converse in the present moment, giving life to soundscapes that are unique and unrepeatable every time.
SITARVALA is the search for new expressive possibilities, the creation of original musical instruments and an exploration of the deep bond between sound, consciousness and inner transformation, reaching into territories that range from meditation to the Yoga of Sound.
SITARVALA is also my stage name, and it literally means “the one who carries the sitar”. I carry the sitar with me as a bridge between worlds: I look after it, I transform it and I weave it into musical traditions from distant cultures, in a constant search for that universal, primordial sound from which all music, and perhaps every silence, first arose.
